Travel Information

Airports

There are 2 options if you’re traveling by plane. Each option has its pros and cons.

T.F. Green Airport is Providence's closest commercial airport, located at 2000 Post Road in Warwick, RI (approximately 20 minutes from downtown). Its advantage is its proximity, but it's a smaller airport and is served by fewer airlines, so airfares tend to be higher.

Logan International Airport is the nearest major airport, located at 1 Harborside Drive in Boston, MA (approximately a 1 hour drive from Providence). It has more airline and flight options, plus the opportunity to sightsee in Boston before or after the wedding. However, the added distance will necessitate renting a car or taking a train between Boston and Providence.

Hotels

We’ve reserved rooms at 2 hotels in downtown Providence. They’re a 3 minute walk away from each other. Please let us know if either hotel becomes unavailable.

If you’d like to reserve an AirBnB, please feel free to send us which neighborhoods you’re looking at and we’ll be happy to advise.

Rail Travel

The Providence train station is located at 100 Gaspee Street, close to downtown and our recommended hotels. For those traveling from New York, Amtrak is your best travel option. Make sure you book early for cheaper fares.

Providence station is also served by MBTA Commuter Rail. For those flying in who don't plan on renting a car, both Logan and T.F. Green airports have nearby rail service which connects to Providence. From Logan, travel time by train is approximately 90-120 minutes. From T.F. Green, it's approximately 40 minutes.

For trip options and up-to-the-minute itineraries, see Google Transit.

Local Transportation

Renting a car is by far the easiest way to get around Rhode Island. Avis, Budget and Enterprise all have rental locations in downtown Providence for those arriving by train. The airports naturally have plenty of car rental options as well.

If you'd prefer not to rent a car, Lyft (an Uber alternative) operates in Providence. They tend to pay their drivers more than Uber, and they allow tipping for good service, so we’d love it if you would support them. Update: We've set up discount codes for rides to the ceremony and reception venues. Please see this page for details.

For those renting cars or using Lyft, we politely suggest that you carpool with other guests whenever possible to minimize redundant trips.

Finally, we should note that Providence's local public transportation system, RIPTA, provides fairly minimal bus service in the area. Unfortunately their service will not be sufficient for travel to and from the wedding venues.
